I get to try a lot of vibrators in my line of work, so when The Zumio vibrator sent to me for review I was puzzled. Zumio was a company I had never heard of and the shape of this vibrator was unlike anything I had seen before. But, like the dedicated sex toy reviewer that I am, I got straight to work, and my clitoris is now eternally thankful!
What is Zumio?
The Zumio was designed by a single mom in Canada who wanted a toy that would deliver orgasms quickly, quietly, powerfully, and with pinpoint precision. And so, the Zumio was born – and boy does it deliver on all those points.
The cool thing about the Zumio vibrator is the way the tip moves. It’s a piece of solid plastic with that little ball tip on the end and the stem itself actually rotates in tiny little circles faster than the eye can see. The idea was that many women use that circular motion on their clitoris while they masturbate, so a toy that can deliver that same circular motion quicker and with pinpoint accuracy could deliver some powerful clitoral orgasms. Turns out they were right.
How to use Zumio
First of all, let me say that even unboxing the Zumio is a joy. The box design makes it look like the luxury toy that it is, and the Zumio inside sits nestled in a bed of foam. It also sits perched in its charging base, so it looks almost like a rechargeable toothbrush. It’s a design that wouldn’t really draw much attention when it’s sitting charging, so it gets bonus points for being discreet, which this mom appreciates.
The Zumio was already charged straight out of the box, so I was able to get straight to it and the first thing I noticed was how light it was in my hand. You hold it almost like a pen, so a light grip is all you need, which will be fantastic for any of you with arthritis or hand mobility issues.
The Zumio turns on with just one quick press to the on button and you can scroll up and down the levels of intensity with the two buttons that are closer to the head. Really easy to figure out. I should also mention that Zumio doesn’t have any patterns – just 8 levels of intensity that start pretty mind-blowing and only go up from there.
Another really unique feature of Zumio is that it responds to increased pressure by slowing down. It may seem counter-intuitive if you’re used to toys that vibrate stronger with adding pressure, but if you keep pressing the tip of Zumio against yourself, it will slow down, then stop vibrating. That is my biggest challenge with this toy, which I will talk about in a bit.
My experience with Zumio
The first time I tried Zumio I had a toe curling clitoral orgasm in about 2 minutes with the setting at its lowest. It was absolutely freakin’ amazing. The vibrator was so light in my hand that my brain was having trouble reconciling the dainty instrument with the intense sensations it was delivering to my clitoris. And my hand wasn’t vibrating at all, despite all that power.
After that astoundingly quick ending, I decided to play around a little and see if it could feel as good in other areas. The answer is yes. Nipples, vulva, anal rim, anywhere you would like some strong, pin-point vibrating sensations, Zumio can deliver. And because it’s so small, it’s easy to use along with an insertable toy or during couple play. Win-win all around.
Which leads me to the one negative, which isn’t really a negative so much as a learning curve. Remember how I mentioned earlier that if you press down on the tip, it will slow down and stop? That happened to me a few times. When you’ve used a lot of toys, it’s a pretty natural habit to get into as you get close to climax and want to maximize sensation. With Zumio you really have to control that urge because pressing down stops all the wonderful feelings! Again, that’s just getting used to this particular toy, though.
Final Thoughts on Zumio
Obviously, I loved Zumio. It has a permanent place in my bedside drawer and for now, it has replaced my Womanizer 2 GO. That’s not a poor reflection on Womanizer at all, but if you are a fan of that intense clitoral orgasm which a Womanizer can provide, you’re going to really like Zumio as much or even more if only because Zumio offers a range of movement and variety that Womanizers just can’t.
If you shy away from intense clitoral stimulation, the Zumio is not going to be for you but word has it they’re working on a toned down version for future release, so stay tuned for that. If you’re a fan of a strong wand or a Womanizer styled clitoral orgasm, I can honestly say that Zumio is a worthy investment.
